Theater Review: Murder for Two

Theater Review: Murder for Two

By Livia Peterson

The Milwaukee Repertory Theater is home to three theaters: Stiemke Studio, Quadracci Powerhouse, and Stackner Cabaret and the triennial theater is the most intimate and immersive out of the three.

Murder for Two is a two man show: The Detective Marcus Moscowicz (Matt Edmonds) investigates and interrogates ten suspects (all portrayed by Milwaukee High School of the Arts graduate Joe Kinosian).

The show is an instant delight from start to finish, especially when Kinosian breaks the fourth wall and interacts with one audience member toward the conclusion. From the catchy scenic design by Regina Garcia to the vibrant lighting design by Lee Fiskness, Murder for Two impeccably combines comedy and mystery. Nonetheless, it is definitely difficult NOT to laugh out loud throughout the show. Like the Milwaukee Rep's The Foreigner (2016-2017 Season), Murder for Two is a brilliant farce that will leave one begging to attend the performance again. A-

Murder for Two runs now through Sunday, January 14, 2018.
