The 2017 Milwaukee LGBT Film Festival

The 2017 Milwaukee LGBT Film Festival

By Livia Peterson

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Film, Video, Animation, and New Genres Department (Peck School of the Arts) will host the 32nd Annual Milwaukee LGBT Film Festival, commencing on November 2 and concluding on November 12. The festival will showcase a variety of LGBT+ narratives, both fiction and nonfiction. The opening night film “Signature Move” will occur at the Oriental Theatre on North Farwell Avenue and the remaining programming is located at the UWM Union Cinema on East Kenwood Boulevard in the Milwaukee’s Upper East Side.

Because I am experiencing Milwaukee Film Festival withdrawals, I currently plan to attend and review three films (“I Dream in Another Language”, “Umbrellas”, and “The Untold Tales of Armistead Maupin”).
