The exciting musical Six will open on Broadway following a limited engagement at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The production will open at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street in New York City) on Thursday, March 12, 2020. Moreover, the performances commence on Thursday, February 13, 2020 and the ticket information is to be announced.

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. The wives of Henry VIII reclaim their identities and transform the historical heartbreak into the celebration of twenty-first century girl power. The all female cast is to be announced and will be backed by an all female band, the Ladies in Waiting.

Six is produced by Kenny Wax, George Stiles, Wendy and Andy Barnes, Kevin McCollum and co-directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage. The production team includes choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, lighting design by Tim Deiling, orchestrations by Tom Curran, music supervision and vocal arrangements by Joe Beighton.

Writers Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss expressed in a press release, “We are unbelievably excited about Six coming to Broadway, like actually what is going on! We are so grateful that we get to share our show with an even wider audience, especially somewhere as iconic as the home of musical theatre – Broadway Baby!! The whole team across the pond are ridiculously amazing, and we can’t wait to share the show with you – NYC, thanks for having us!!!”

The producers asserted, “From its student beginnings at the Edinburgh Festival, via the West End we’re absolutely thrilled to bring Six to Broadway. Toby and Lucy have created an empowering musical about six of the most misrepresented women in history that couldn’t be more timely. We can’t wait for New York audiences to see the production at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.”

Ordway’s President and CEO Jamie Grant added, “For the first time in the history of our theater, a major production is headed from the Ordway directly to Broadway. Six is a surefire, sell-out hit and we’re thrilled to provide our audiences with the opportunity to see it in St. Paul before it heads to New York.”

The partnership with the U.S. producer Kevin McCollum allowed the production to perform elsewhere. Six premiered at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in Chicago, Illinois in May 2019 and concluding its run on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Prior to Broadway, the production is scheduled to perform limited engagements at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) in Cambridge, Massachusetts (August 21 - September 7), the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, AB Canada (November 2-24), and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, Minnesota (November 29 - December 22).
