No Studios To Launch This Weekend

Founded by the award winning filmmaker John Ridley, No Studios will launch this weekend. No Studios is located in the newly redeveloped Pabst Brewery Complex (1037 West McKinley Avenue). The tenants include Milwaukee Film, Milwaukee Filmmaker Alliance, 371 Productions, UW-Milwaukee Department of Film, and more. The membership levels include Artist, Social, and Club. The grand opening includes various events, ranging from film screenings to mingling with local artists and No Studios representatives. No Studios is establishing Milwaukee’s film industry and allowing it to thrive. Use the hashtag #SocializeWithPurpose to discuss No Studios on social media.

The events are open to the public.
7pm: No Studios and the Milwaukee Filmmaker Alliance presents a panel consisting of Milwaukee based female filmmakers focusing on inclusion in the film industry.
9pm to Midnight: Film Screenings and live music by local artists Shaddye, Melodic Prodigies and K-Stamp.

The open house is open to public. The events occur from 10am to 5pm.
10am to 12pm: The local coffee roaster, Colectivo will provide coffee, wine, beers, cocktails, and pastry tasting in the gallery lounge cocktail bar.
12pm to 2pm: Ice cream social allowing to mingle with local artists and No Studios representatives.
2pm to 4pm: Beer tasting with local beers.

2pm to 4pm: The Milwaukee Filmmaker Alliance and the Los Angeles based PR firm, Big Time will host a marketing and communications workshop, led by Sylvia Desrochers, No Studios’ media and programming director. Open to members and local students are encouraged to attend with a student ID.
