The 11th Milwaukee Film Festival recently announced its retrospective film slate, including various classic films and insight from special guests.
Milwaukee Film’s Festival Director Cara Ogburn expressed in a press release, “No matter what our audiences love most about film, these events will spark the discovery, the thrill and the passion of cinema that we all share. We are elated to have such incredible guests who will help extend the already-special experience of the Milwaukee Film Festival.”
The lineup includes Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (cast members in attendance), The Passion of Joan of Arc (live performance with an original score), Paris is Burning (keynote talk with the director), The Birds, The Last Unicorn, and A Bigger Splash. Additional screenings include the festival favorite Stop Making Sense, Mark Borchardt’s Milwaukee produced Coven presented in 35mm, and Showgirls (1995) presented in 35mm, paired with You Don’t Nomi demonstrating its journey into a cult classic.
The 2019 Milwaukee Film Festival commences on Thursday, October 17, 2019 and concludes on Thursday, October 31, 2019. You can find more information here.
